Fascinating Fascinators

A few weeks ago my parents were in Dublin, Ireland. While on their vacation they stumbled upon a cute vintage store, The Harlequin, where they picked up two adorable fascinators for me. Just call me Kate Middleton...well, not really. But they are so fun to wear.

This black feathery one is very wearable and adds a little something special to any outfit. Don't you love it?

Okay, this one is a little more out there...but isn't it amazing??? Wearing it reminds me of women with crazy hats at the horse races for some reason. Now I think I will have to have a derby party this year. :-)

Gift Guide- Accessories

I absolutely love accessories. Adding them to any outfit gives you instant style. They also are a very simple gift when you are in a pinch. I find that these make fantastic gifts for someone you know really well...or someone that you hardly know at all. Here are my favorite accessories to gift---

Hats are a fun way to add some personality to your look. Winter time is always a great time to wear an adorable cloche. This one, available at ModCloth, is my current favorite...probably because it is pink.

Jewelry always makes a great gift. There are some amazing pieces available at t + j Designs. Unique styles at affordable prices...gotta love them!

Gloves are a fantastic item for the holidays...especially if you live where it is cold. You know the recipient will use them...and if they are cute, you know they will love wearing them. Check out these beautiful Leather Cashmere Lined Gloves from Coach. They come in seven different colors (again, I'm partial to pink!) and they are sure to make anyone's holiday a little brighter.

Who doesn't love a great handbag? Matt and Nat has some amazing vegan handbags. I personally love this black vegan Hendrix bag in their collection. Slightly edgy, yet very wearable.

Scarves are a great go to gift when you don't know what to get someone. They can wear it with their coat...or to add some color and texture to their outfit. What I really love is the eternity scarf. This is the "circle scarf" that you simply loop over your head. It's probably one of the easiest scarves to wear because you don't have to worry about how you tie it. I'm usually not the type to fall for cutesy accessories such as these but these Lulu Guinness lip clutches make me smile just looking at them and they certainly are eye-catching.

Have you invested in one already? It's quite possibly the most MAJOR accessory of this season (besides the clutch bag, I think). I definitely wouldn't mind having a multitude of felt hats in rainbow colours, no siree.

The colour that I'm really drawn to nowadays is orange so when I popped into the Mango store the other day I was determined to buy a scarf in that shade. I was eye-ing a few alternatives by Banana Republic (their scarves feel super soft) but the Korean prices are ridiculous compared to Mango. The only tiny problem I have with this scarf is that I initially bought it thinking it was an orange-orange but since going home and looking at it under a different light I've found that it's more a pink-orange. Store lighting is super deceptive, LOL. Make sure to always double check.
